The trailer of David F Sandberg’s Annabelle: Creation gave the horror freaks a glimpse into the origins of the haunted doll first seen in James Wan’s 2013 film The Conjuring. Now, the makers have released two more clips of the film leading up to the theatrical release of the horror flick. [caption id=“attachment_3896799” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] A still from Annabelle: Creation. YouTube[/caption] The first clip shows a girl aiming her toy gun at a dark closet, presumably where the doll rests. The second clip shows her covering the doll, resting in the closet, with a bed sheet. What follows in both the scenes is a joy to discover, almost. While the cinematography and the background score pump up the adrenaline, the weak reactions of the victim, the small girl, robs you off the goosebumps. Sandberg does not make up for the lack of performance by his writing as both the clips are anti-climatic to say the least. They are sure to lure you into the theatres to watch more but the sheer done-to-death tropes make them fall flat on their faces. Much more is expected from this prequel of John R Leonetti’s 2014 film Annabelle. Annabelle: Creation is slated to release in India on 11 August along with Shree Narayan Singh’s romantic comedy Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
The two clips, released by the makers of Annabelle: Creation, do not match up to the trailer in terms of the horror quotient.
