Singers Akriti Kakar, Ankit Tiwari and Shilpa Rao have landed in legal soup. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, a USA based event management company has filed an FIR against the three at Oshiwara police station.
The complainant alleges that an amount of Rs. 30 lac was paid to Brotherhood Entertainment, a company reportedly owned by Tiwari and his brother, who is also named in the FIR along with Rao, a business partner.
As per the agreement between the two companies, Tiwari and Kakar were supposed to perform at an event but failed to do so. Since then, two years have passed and the commitment allegedly remains unfulfilled.
Deep Kumar Vora, who has filed the complaint, claims that he had flown down from the USA to specifically resolve the matter in person. However, despite his repeated attempts, he did not receive a reply from the singers.
Therefore, the firm was forced to asked the singer to either initiate a refund or do a show. However, due to no concrete response from the singers, the firm was compelled to take legal action. The police have registered a cheating case against the accused and summoned them. However, none of them is in town at the moment.
