Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal has performed beyond expectations at the box office. Apart from the domestic market, the massy action-drama has also taken the international circuit by storm. In just 5 days, the film has grossed Rs 481 crore at the worldwide box office. With this, it has surpassed the business of Tiger 3 (Rs 462.73 crore) and War (Rs 475.62 crore) to emerge as the 13th highest Bollywood grosser globally.

Since there are no big releases in the next week, _Animal_ will continue its dominance at the box office. While the film is set to enter the Rs 300 crore club by tomorrow, it has all the potential to become the fourth Rs 500 crore grosser in India after Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Jawan. Before the release of the film, during the Chennai event, Ranbir revealed why film’s title is _Animal_  and said, “I think the reason why Sandeep Reddy Vanga called this film Animal is because animal behaves out of instinct. They don’t behave out of thought. So this character that I’m playing, he behaves out of instinct to protect his family. He is not thinking he is behaving out of instinct, he is impulsive, and I think that’s where the title Animal came and once you see the film you’ll realize that this film suits this title.”
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy fame, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Sonali Batra and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. It locked horns with Vicky Kaushal, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra starrer Sam Bahadur at the ticket windows.
