Animal: Ranbir Kapoor reportedly paid Rs 80 crore, likely to charge higher for part two after blockbuster success

Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal is already a blockbuster at the box-office with Rs 250 crore in merely five days. The actor’s film refuses to slow down and comfortably aims at entering the 500-crore club at the box-office after Pathaan, Gadar 2, and Jawan, and be his highest grossing film till date. In the end credits, the makers have announced part two called Animal Park, a surprise well kept untold by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga . A report by Rediff says Ranbir charged Rs 80 crore for Animal and for the sequel, seeing the historic response, is likely to take home a whopping Rs 100 crore. A source told the portal, “Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Ranbir Kapoor have already discussed the sequel, and Reddy is readying the script. It is a work-in-progress. The only thing that needs to be discussed is the remuneration for Reddy and Ranbir. The fee has to be re-negotiated on the basis of the volume of success.” While the film has crossed the business of films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2 and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar The Kerala Story today, it will surpass the business of Tiger 3 to become the fifth highest grosser of the year after Jawan, Gadar 2 and Pathaan. Talking about the review, Firstpost gave the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “The runtime of Animal is over 3 hours and 20 minutes and I can assure you there won’t be any moment where you feel the movie is boring. Throughout the film something is happening which will keep you hooked to the screens and the credit goes to Vanga’s superb editing skills and storytelling. Talking about the performances, Ranbir Kapoor lives in and out to deliver one of his career-defining roles. Honestly, I wouldn’t have ever imagined that after being Bunny and Mickey from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, RK would go so dark, gore and violent and do this crazy stuff with Animal and that too like a boss.”
