Sandeep Reddy Vanga hails from a medical background and before foraying into films, he was a physiotherapist. But it was his passion for cinema that inspired him to be a filmmaker. In one of his interviews, he said, “I worked as an assistant director in a film. After that, I did not get a film for almost 6 years. After 6 years, I got a chance to make ‘Arjun Reddy’.

In a recent interview, the filmmaker said, “If you go to Delhi, get enrolled in an institute and give 2-3 years of your life, you can crack IAS. But, I can give you in writing that there’s no course or teacher that can make you a filmmaker or writer.”

He was brutally trolled for his statement by netizens.

IAS officer Vikas Divyakirti had criticised Animal and said “A film like Animal takes our society back by 10 years. A film like this should not be made. You earned money. You showed that your hero behaves like an animal. There should be some social value, or are people working only for financial value?”

Vanga added in his interview with Komal Nahata, “On one hand, we are making movies like 12th Fail and on the other, films like Animal are making the society regressive.’ If somebody attacks you unnecessarily, you will get angry. He is an IAS officer who must have studied hard and reached where he is.”

A user on Reddit wrote, “He literally needs to shut up at this point. Everytime he opens his mouth he validates every single negative opinion people have had of the movie and it’s messaging.” (sic)

Another user said, “When will he stop whining like a child man, just end this!” Meanwhile, a user pointed out, “Any Tom Dick Harry can become a ‘Filmmaker’ but not an IAS officer. Duh even top 100 rank amongst more than a million people isn’t enough to become an IAS.”
