And the captain of the ship replied- “Coming from you, this means a great deal. I’ve always admired the fearlessness with which you stand by your cinema and your faith in unapologetic, masculine storytelling.”

'Animal' director Sandeep Reddy Vanga heaps praises on Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar': 'Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh erased into air and...'

Akshaye Khanna should be on cloud nine post two blockbusters in the same year- Chhaava and Dhurandhar. The recluse star is getting immense praise for his restrained and remarkable performance as Rehman Dakait. The entire ensemble and the lead actor Ranveer Singh have all the reasons to celebrate.

‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had to say this amid the film’s blockbuster success- “ DHURANDHAR is built like a man who doesn’t talk much & carries a masculine spine…. DHURANDHAR The title fits because the film moves with dominance & fierce. The depiction is very clear with zero chaos. Music, performances, screenplay & direction are on the top.”

Vanga added, “"# Akshaye Khanna sir and @RanveerOfficial erased into air & just disappeared into characters effortlessly. Thank you @AdityaDharFilms for making everyone experience the true weight of untold sacrifices”

And the captain of the ship replied- “Coming from you, this means a great deal. I’ve always admired the fearlessness with which you stand by your cinema and your faith in unapologetic, masculine storytelling. Dhurandhar was shaped with sincerity, restraint, and conviction—your words give that journey its quiet validation.”

Akshaye Khanna seems to have become the flavour of the month post his bone-chilling and barbaric performance in Aditya Dhar’s severely discussed and debated spy drama Dhurandhar. The pensive star essayed the role of Pakistani gangster Rahman Dakait. The vintage Akshaye Khanna smirks were sprinkled on the heinous demeanour of this dreaded gangster.

Dhar allows his actor to chew the scenery and fascinatingly fulfills his wish of starring in an action film. There’s swag even in his sorrows. He dies a painful death in an encounter that happens in 2009 in the film, inspired by real-life events and incidents.

Who was Rahman Dakait?

Dakait’s real name was Sardar Abdul Rehman Baloch. He established his dominance with his henchmen in Lyari. He was into drug peddling right during his teens and committed his first crime at the age of 13. We are told in the film he murdered his own mother. He was 34 when he died in an encounter. His cousin Uzair took command of his gang after his death.
