Animal: Decoding Bobby Deol's entry song 'Jamal Kudu' that has gone viral, and its inspiration

Bobby Deol seems to have left a big impression on fans and critics by his performance and role as Abrar in Sandeep Vanga’s Animal. And more than his hideous performance (in good ways), the one thing people can’t stop raving about is the song that’s playing at his entry shot. The song is being sung by a music choir on the occasion of Deol’s character Abrar’s third wedding. The actor’s hook step of dancing with a drink on his head has gone viral too. Here’s everything you need to know about the song called Jamal Kudu : The song has an Iranian origin and is inspired by the song Jamaal Jamaaloo. This song was redesigned by composer Harshvardhan Rameshwar for Animal. It was inspired by a poem of the same name by Iranian poet Bijan Smandar. Reportedly sung at Kharazemi Girls High School in the 1950s for the first time, it has become a popular wedding song over the years. Users found the original version and shared the video on Instagram:

In an exclusive interview with Firstpost, Bobby Deol told the portal about his now famous entry scene. “Sandeep Reddy Vanga told me about it in the beginning. He said there would be this tired and exhausted Ranbir who has lost it and the screen will change to your face smiling,” said the star. He added, “He also made me hear the music for my and Ranbir’s fight sequence, which nobody has done before. That actually brings out the relationship between the characters, there’s love for each other but they also have to kill each other. When people were watching the climax, they didn’t know whom to sympathize with.”
