While the film has garnered polarising views from critics, it has impressed the audience with its narrative, direction and impeccable performances.
Before the release of the film, during the Chennai event, Ranbir revealed why the film’s title is Animal and said, “I think the reason why Sandeep Reddy Vanga called this film Animal is because animal behaves out of instinct. They don’t behave out of thought. So this character that I’m playing, he behaves out of instinct to protect his family. He is not thinking he is behaving out of instinct, he is impulsive, and I think that’s where the title Animal came and once you see the film you’ll realize that this film suits this title.” Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy fame, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Sonali Batra and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. It locked horns with Vicky Kaushal, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra starrer Sam Bahadur at the ticket windows.
