Now, the Times of India reports that Anil will play reel life father to his real life son Harshvardhan Kapoor in the biopic of ace shooter and the first individual Olympic gold medalist of India, Abhinav Bindra. Anil will play Abhinav's father AS Bindra, a Chandigarh-based millionaire industrialist who owns an huge agro-food business in Punjab.

Abhinav's father has been crucially instrumental in his rise to World Championship. DNA reports that after Abhinav returned from the Sydney Olympics, his father invested in a farmhouse where Abhinav could practice shooting in peace.

While all details of the film have been locked in and the makers have received a nod from Abhinav, they are negotiating the dates with Anil who is currently shooting for Mubarakan in London. As far as Harshvardhan is concerned, he would have to undergo intense training in rifle shooting. Interestingly, his debut film last year, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's romantic saga Mirzya, saw him undergo training for horse riding and archery.

This will mark the first time that Anil will share the screen space with either of his children. Anil has worked with Rhea Kapoor in the capacity of co-producers in Neeraj Vora's 2009 comedy Shortkut: The Con Is On, Rajshree Ojha's Aisha and two seasons of the television thriller series 24.

He has also shared the screen space with Sonam Kapoor but only the small screen. They have worked together on a garment commercial. But the Abhinav Bindra biopic will be the first time he works with Harshvardhan, in any capacity.

The report by the Times of India states that the project will be helmed by Kannan Iyer who made his directorial debut with the 2013 supernatural thriller Ek Thi Daayan.
