Anil Kapoor says he feels blessed to have worked with Sridevi: 'She had a huge contribution to my career'
Anil Kapoor, who was last seen Fanney Khan, recently shot an episode of Star Plus’ Dance Plus 4, which included a segment called "Sridevi Tribute." According to SpotBoyE, the actor spoke about the late actress and revealed that he would touch her feet every time they met as a mark of respect irrespective of where they met. He added that this gesture used to make her feel awkward.
Kapoor was quoted as saying, "As an artist, I feel blessed to have worked with Sridevi ji and she had a huge contribution to my career. She was an actor with immeasurable talent who could fill the screen with her magic. We shouldn’t remember her with sadness and rather celebrate her brilliance as a performer with love, affection and joy."
Sridevi, who married Anil's elder brother Boney Kapoor, frequently collaborated with her brother-in-law, including in the sci-fi cult classic Mr India. Kapoor had recently revealed that he was offered to play one of the male leads opposite Sridevi in the 1989 blockbuster Chaalbaaz, which had the late actress in a double role, reports PTI.
The actress, who had an illustrious career spanning over four decades, died at the age of 55. According to the Dubai forensic report, her death occurred due to accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub following loss of consciousness.
