Anil Kapoor is going to star in a new sci-fi web series based on extraterrestrial life
Anil Kapoor will play one of the main protagonist's in the upcoming sci-fi series The Book of Strange New Things on Amazon Prime.

Anil Kapoor is not afraid to try new things.
After making his international debut with Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire in 2009, the Bollywood actor went on to star in the TV series 24 and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
Now the action star will be playing a pivotal role in Amazon Original's new sci-fi drama The Book of Strange New Things. Based on the book of the same name by Michael Faber, the web show will trace the setting up of a new colony in space, Oasis, where Kapoor plays the role of Vikram Danesh, who is the head of the settlement.

The series is going to be directed by Kevin MacDonald ( The Last King Of Scotland) and star Game of Thrones star Richard Madden. The series is being penned by Matt Charman whose writing credits include Bridge of Spies.
The actor spoke to The Hindu about the digital medium he is venturing into, "That’s the future of how people are going to consume content all over the world. I was always keen to work on a web show and since this opportunity came along, I decided to take it."
He also spoke to the daily about how he thinks content on television is undergoing a change to compete with online platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime. He thinks the industry is taking a step in the right direction by giving the audience all sorts of shows they want to see.
Anil Kapoor had also acquired the remake rights to 24 and made a series that changed the face of Indian television. The drama went on to become the most awarded Indian television show of 2014 with 32 nominations and 16 wins. Additionally, he also has the remake rights for popular sitcom Modern Family
