 "Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn to face-off in De De Pyaar De 2: Report")
Five years after De De Pyaar De, the makers confirmed the sequel and this time, Ajay Devgn is all set to have a face off with the man he had a face off with in Tezz and Total Dhamaal- Anil Kapoor.
A source told Pinkvilla in its exclusive report, “Anil was bowled over by the concept of DDPD 2 and it was an instant yes from him. The humor quotient in De De Pyaar De 2 is said to be a level above the prequel, with an interesting dynamic between Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor.”
The source added, “The tussle between Kapoor’s character and Ajay Devgn is the standout feature of De De Pyaar De 2. It’s a dynamic that got both excited as they have never shared an on-screen equation like this before. The sequel follows Ajay and Rakul’s comedic escapades as they strive to win over Rakul’s family.”
Back in August 2023, reports circulated suggesting that Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh will reunite for the second installment of their hit romantic comedy, De De Pyaar De. The film, released in 2018, performed well both critically and commercially. As fans awaited the updates around De De Pyaar De 2, the makers are here with another announcement to keep their excitement intact.
Backed by Luv Ranjan, Ankur Garg, and Bhushan Kumar, De De Pyaar De 2 will be releasing on May 1, 2025. Recently, the production house of filmmaker Luv Ranjan, popular for his films like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkar, announced the release date of Ajay Devgn’s film with a post.
The post featured a picture mentioning the release date, the name of the director, and the producers of the upcoming film. Notably, De De Pyaar De 2 will be helmed by Anshul Sharma. Anshul, earlier, directed Saare Jahaan Se Mehnga, starring Sanjay Mishra and Pragati Pandey. He is also known for working as an Assistant Director in films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and No Smoking. Additionally, Luv Ranjan will be collaborating with Tarun Jain to write an apt story for the film.
