Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been sending out death threats to Bollywood star Salman Khan for his 1998 blackbuck case that unfolded in Jodhpur, Rajasthan during the shoot of Hum Saath Saath Hain. Recently, gunshots were fired at Indian singer and actor Gippy Garewal’s Canada home due to his closeness and ties with the Tiger star. Amid all this pandemonium, a video of actor Vivek Oberoi went viral where he could be seen praising the Bishnoi community. In the video, the ‘Company’ actor can be seen saying, “In this world, there is only one community, the Bishnoi community, where if a deer dies, its kids (a fawn) is looked after and fed by the mothers of the community like their own children.”
The Lawrence Bishnoi-Salman Khan case Bishnoi, a prime accused in Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, told the Delhi Police back in 2022 that his community would not forgive Salman Khan unless he tendered an apology for killing a blackbuck, which is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. HGS Dhaliwal, special commissioner Delhi Police (special cell) said that during the interrogation, Lawrence Bishnoi candidly said, “Since the Bishnois consider the blackbuck to be the reincarnation of their religious guru, Bhagwan Jambeshwar also known as Jambaji, acquittal or punishment from the court will not be the last verdict for him.” “Lawrence Bishnoi also said actor Salman Khan and his father (Salim Khan) either tender public apology in Jambaji temple or the Bishnois will kill them,” Dhaliwal informed.
