Ajay Devgn's Shivaay gets one cut, U rating and the all-clear from the censors
The cut in question was for a lovemaking scene between Shivaay's hero Ajay Devgn and lead actress Erika Kaar.
Ajay Devgn's Shivaay has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification, with just one cut.It has been given a U certificate, in time for its release on 28 October.
The cut in question was for a lovemaking scene between Shivaay's hero Ajay Devgn and lead actress Erika Kaar. As per reports, the scene, which also featured a kiss between the two actors, has been "trimmed".
In contrast with Shivaay's smooth journey, has been that of its box office rival Ae Dil hai Mushkil's.
Even as the film, which features a cameo by Fawad Khan, has been caught in the severe backlash of anti-Pakistan sentiment simmering in India post-Uri attacks making its release uncertain, its director Karan Johar also had to submit to several cuts demanded by the CBFC in order to get a UA rating.
Specifically, three "intimate" scenes between Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were snipped.
Ajay Devgn is expected to receive the censor certificate for Shivaay on 17 October, Monday.
