Golmaal 4 to release on Diwali; will clash with Rajinikanth's 2.0, Aamir's Secret Superstar
Ajay Devgn has had two unfruitful experiences of clashing with big films on Diwali in the past. Golmaal 4 will be his third time.
Ajay Devgn has done it again. After bearing the brunt of releasing his films twice on the occasion of Diwali, he has decided to release his next, the comedy ensemble, Golmaal Again on the festival this year.
This implies that the film will clash with yet another sequel, S Shankar's science fiction entertainer 2.0 and Advait Chandan's Secret Superstar.
This clash pits Devgn against not only Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, who will be seen locking horns in 2.0, but also Aamir Khan who is producing Secret Superstar and also has an extended cameo in the film starring Dangal-fame child artiste Zaira Wasim in the lead role.

Devgn has had two infamous clashes on Diwali, the first being in 2012 when he released his comedy, Ashwini Dhir's Son of Sardaar, on the same day as late filmmaker Yash Chopra's last film, the romantic drama Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
He was at loggerheads with the lead star of the latter, Shah Rukh Khan, and went on to even sue Yash Raj Films for carrying out monopolistic practices by striking an alleged unfair deal with cinema hall owners to gain more screens on Diwali.
Similarly, he also had a bitter clash with filmmaker Karan Johar last year when he released his directorial, the action adventure film Shivaay, on the same date as Johar's directorial, the romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Devgn once again resorted to the same tactics when he alleged that Johar bribed the self-proclaimed critic KRK to bash Devgn's film on Twitter.
However, Devgn failed to gain the upper hand on both the occasions as far as the box office results were concerned.
Given the wide popularity of Rohit Shetty's Golmaal franchise and the stellar cast that he has managed to rope in, Devgn may have marginally more chances of gaining the upper hand at the box office this Diwali.
Golmaal Again stars Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra, Kunal Khemu, Johnny Lever, Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Prakash Raj. It is co-produced by Shetty and Devgn and is the foruth installment of the Golmaal franchise.
