Aishwarya Rai opens up on how to deal with 'street harassment': Don't blame your dress or…'

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan began her career with Iruvar in 1997 that was directed by Mani Ratnam. The duo then went on to collaborate for films like Guru, Raavan, and most recently, the Ponniyin Selvan series that dominated the IIFA 2024 Utsavam. The actress has now spoken about how to deal with street harassment in her new video.

The actress says in the video- “Avoid eye contact? No. Look the problem directly in the eyes. Hold your head high. Feminine and feminist—my body, my worth.”

She adds, “Never compromise your worth. Do not doubt yourself. Stand up for your worth. Don’t blame your dress or your lipstick. Street harassment is never your fault.”

While rumours of   Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s divorce  have been grabbing the headlines for quite some time, the speculations garnered limelight after none of the Bachchan family members wished Ash on her birthday, which was on 1st November.

Rai Bachchan is a global icon but as per a report by DNA, she refused Mr and Mrs Smith opposite Brad Pitt and Hanock with Will Smith due to kissing and intimate scenes, which she was uncomfortable with.

While none of the Bachchan family members wished Ash on her 51st birthday, an old tweet of Big B recently went viral on Reddit, where the megastar not only thanked fans for their warm wishes for her daughter-in-law but also shared glimpses into how the family celebrated the big day.

The tweet of Big B from 2010 read, “T172 -First things first … thank you all for wishing Aishwarya on her birthday !! Have passed it on to her.. she thanks all … love."'
