Bold lips, flowy gowns: Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya's looks at Cannes 2016 are stunning

Chances are, you probably have been seeing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Sonam Kapoor on your timeline all through the weekend. It is the Cannes International Film Festival, after all. This year, both the ladies chose sassy, bold and experimental looks and pretty much collectively won our hearts. Aishwarya, who opted for bold colours like golden, red and purple, made statement after statement with her long flowing gowns, and high-definition make up. This look seems to be the flavour of the season, as Sonam Kapoor also steered clear from too many prints or layers, and stuck with a white flowing gown and a black/blue saree for her appearances. Definite #fashiongoals, ladies! Marking her 15th year at Cannes, Aishwarya’s first look on the red carpet was a golden Ali Younes Couture gown, which dazzled in golden, which is what you get when you mix golden, sheer and glitter. Aishwarya also chose to go bold with her eye make up with smokey blue eye-shadow and bold lashes. She flaunted a red ruffled gown from New York-based designer Naeem Khan for press interactions on Saturday morning. She was also representing the brand L’Oréal. For all those who complained about Aishwarya playing too safe all these year, this is her answer. Reuters Image.[/caption] Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor made her first appearance at Cannes on Sunday, with a sari by designer Rimzim Dadu paired with fuchsia lips, neatly tied bun and a striking black collar necklace for press interactions. AP Image.[/caption] This is the sixth year of Sonam Kapoor walking the red carpet at Cannes as the L’Oréal Paris ambassador. For the first time in six years, Sonam will also be attending the prestigious amfAR gala, established to raise funds for the fight against AIDS.
