'Age is just a number, it doesn't scare me': Madhuri Dixit on her 48th birthday

Mumbai: As she turns a year older today, Bollywood dance queen Madhuri Dixit says age just does not bother her as it is just a number for her. “Age is just a number for me. It doesn’t scare me. It doesn’t stop me from doing anything. I feel talent is timeless and I believe in it,” Madhuri, who turned 48 today, told PTI here in an interview. The dancing diva is having a quiet birthday celebration with her family today. The year gone by was special to her, considering her online dance academy is going good. “The year has gone really well. I am thankful to my family, friends and my fans for their love and support,” Madhuri said. [caption id=“attachment_1576917” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Madhuri Dixit. It’s my wish to take dance at every doorstep. Through this (e-learning platform that allows people to learn dance), we are trying to give the best to everyone," she said. For Madhuri, the most memorable birthday gifts are the ones that she gets from her two sons. “The birthday cards that they make for me are special. Besides that, I remember when they were like four-six years old, they went out with their dad and brought a beautiful bracelet for me,” the actress said. Born on May 15, 1967, Madhuri entered the film industry in 1984 and achieved mass popularity with her acting, dancing skills and eternal beauty. Some of the most memorable films of the actress include Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Parinda, Dil, Saajan, Beta, Khalnayak, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Dil To Pagal Hai, Mrityudand, Pukar and Devdas among others. She was honoured with Padma Shri in 2008, for her contribution to Indian cinema. This year she wishes to get into activities that allow her to spend more quality time with her family. “I hope to do good work, be it with ‘Dance with Madhuri’ or doing films. I am waiting for an exciting offer to come my way,” she said. She was last seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s Dedh Ishqiya and Anubhav Sinha’s Gulab Gang. She has been judging popular television dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. PTI
