After Rashmika Mandanna & Katrina Kaif, Kajol becomes victim of deepfake, her GRWM video stirs the internet

After Rashmika Mandanna and Katrina Kaif, actress Kajol became the victim of deepfake technology. The original footage belongs to a British social media influencer, who posted the video on TikTok as part of the Get Ready With Me trend as reported by BoomLive, the fact-checking website. Rosie Breen, shared the original clip on TikTok on June 5, 2023, following the GRWM (Get Ready With Me) trend. However, in the latest deepfake video, we see Kajol’s face has been morphed into Breen’s making it look like the actress is changing her clothes in front of the camera.

The deepfake technology grabbed the attention recently when a morphed video of Rashmika Mandanna went viral on social media. The actress addressed the issue and wrote on her Instagram story, “I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online. Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused.”

We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft.”
