The filmmaker, known for his realistic portrayals of contemporary Indian society, has once again chosen to work with performers who can bring depth and authenticity to his narratives.
Two months ago, Bhandarkar shared a post that read- “Today marks the start of my 16th film, #TheWives, an original story set in the captivating world of glamour that we I’ve explored over the last four years. My audience has a certain kind of expectation from me. They are very well aware that if I’m working on a film, I will make sure to bring out some sort of an ‘expose’ on my subject matter. Not just that, every time I’m spotted anywhere even talking to people, they assume I’m doing my research because I probably might be making a film on that subject matter.
I’m definitely someone who gets into every big and small detail of the topic I decide to make a film on. This time around, my next film is about the real life of Bollywood wives. I have decided to title my next film as Wives of Bollywood and I have had this title with me for a very long time.
