Actor Vijay Sethupathi, best known for films and shows like Super Deluxe, 96, Vikram Vedha, Maharaja, Merry Christmas, Farzi, has landed in trouble. A user has made allegations of manipulation and exploitation on X in a tweet that now stands deleted.

A woman by the name of Ramya Mohan wrote- “@VijaySethuOffl has offered Rs. 2L for “caravan favors”, Rs. 50k for “drives” and acts like saint on social media. She was used by him for years. This isn’t one story. It’s many and the media worships these men like they are saints. The drug-sex nexus is real. Not a joke.”

Netizens react to viral tweet

One user said, “I hope you don’t back down out of a fight. If what you said is true we need to put people who bully others into submission in place. And weak law enforcement cannot be an excuse to stay silent anymore. This is 2025.”

A second commented- “Why give him a clean chit. Then our cause to expose such elements remains unfulfilled and the Dravidiya patriarchy will continue to laugh in their control.”

A third said, “avoid tagging people or using real names in the future if your intention is to create awareness, bcoz there hv been lot of unwanted and illegal detentions of normal people in the last 4 yrs.”

Last year, the actor was in Chennai to promote his film Merry Christmas when he was asked a question about Hindi being opposed as a language in Tamil Nadu.

Sethupathi said, “I was asked a question about Hindi being opposed as a language in Tamil Nadu. Responding to the same, Sethupathi said, “Hindi, as a language, was never opposed. I remember you asking the same question to Aamir Khan. Why are you asking this question again and again? We never said no to Hindi. We are against the Hindi imposition.” He added, “There’s a difference between both. People are learning Hindi here and no one is against that.”
