The trailer for Simbu's upcoming thriller Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada was released over the weekend, and has generated a fair amount of excitement among the actor's fans.
AYM, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, has had to cross some hurdles on the road to its completion, and there are high expectations connected with the project, in terms of whether or not it will prove to be the hit that Simbu needs at this time, after a somewhat rough patch. Gautham Menon and Simbu have previously delivered a hit in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa in 2010, so there is quite a bit of prestige value attached to the project.
The film has been touted as a 'romantic-action entertainer' and the trailer seems to deliver on that promise.
It begins with Simbu as a much-in-love young man, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he is unwittingly drawn into a dangerous situation. How he manages to protect his loved ones from threat forms the crux of the story — and brings in the action/thriller element.
The film’s title has been taken from a song from the 1960 film Mannadhi Mannan starring MGR, reports The Indian Express. Translated, it means 'fear is foolishness'.
AYM features Simbu, Manjima Mohan, Daniel Balaji and Sathish in key roles. A Telugu version of the film (Sahasam Swasaga Sagapo), has Naga Chaitanya playing the lead.
