Academy Awards 2025: Indian artists Iman Chakraborty and Bickram Ghosh in the running for the Oscar alongside Lady Gaga

The Academy Awards 2025 are heating up. It was RRR making the nation proud in 2023. This year, it could be Laapataa Ladies. And there are two more Indian artists who could make the nation swell with pride- Iman Chakraborty and Bickram Ghosh. Iman is making headlines for the song Iti Maa from Indira Dhar Mukkherjee’s Bengali film Putul.

Chakraborty said, “Iti Maa has made it to the list of 79 songs as the only Bengali entry. This feels surreal. I’m deeply grateful to our music director, Sayan, and film director for entrusting me with this opportunity.”

And Ghosh is making news for Ishq Walla Daqu from Girish Malik’s Band of Maharajas.

‘Laapataa Ladies ,’ directed by Kiran Rao, has won the hearts of the audience with its interesting story and humor. The film not only entertained the audience but also left a significant impact with its engaging narrative.

While the film garnered tremendous love from both audiences and critics during its theatrical and OTT release, it also had its screening at the Supreme Court of India in the presence of producers Aamir Khan and director Kiran Rao.

The film is now India’s official entry for the Oscars 2025 and this is the biggest feather in its cap.
