Abhay Deol to reportedly essay the role of King Vikramaditya in Tamil film Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai
The Dev D star, Abhay Deol, who after a two-year-long hiatus, is all set for his second coming in the industry. With a slew of interesting releases and international projects coming up, he has now signed up for a Tamil period drama, where he will essay the role of King Vikramaditya as reported by Mumbai Mirror.
The film titled, Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai, has been written and will be directed by the debutant director Rathindran Prasad.
“IVSK is an action-adventure, graphic novel-esque pulp fiction,” said Deol when speaking to Mumbai Mirror about his first Tamil language film.
“It’s wonderful to be a part of someone’s passion project and bring his vision to the screen. Yes, I had to speak Tamil — ancient Tamil — but Rati would laugh, that for me any Tamil was Greek and Latin," adds the Mumbai Mirror report.
Meanwhile, the actor has just seen the launch of his next horror-comedy, Nanu Ki Jaanu about a love story based in the after-life, along with Citylights actress Patralekhaa.
He is also, almost finished shooting for the sci-fi movie JL-50, along with co-star Piyush Mishra, where Deol plays a CBI detective, and a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, opposite Katrina Kaif. The talented actor has also been busy with an international project, the bi-lingual American production The Field, which has been shot in India and is 70 percent in Hindi.
