Actor Abhay Deol is not only facing a bad stint at the box office but also appears to be battling some financial woes. Reportedly, the actor has mortgaged his Juhu flat to compensate for losses he incurred after his latest film, One By Two, bombed at the box office.
The actor confirmed the report to Mid Day . “I have availed a loan for which I had to give papers for this property as surety.”
The apartment which he has mortgaged is located in Pandurang Co-operative Housing Society in Pandurang Wadi, Juhu. Media reports claim that at present the actor has shifted to his Santacruz apartment.
One By Two was Deol’s first film as a producer and he faced many hassles during the production. The actor had a disagreement with the record label T-Series as a result of which the music of the film was never released.
Reportedly, the film was made on the budget of Rs 8 crore and Deol produced it in collaboration with five other people. Although the sum of the loan he availed is unknown, his Juhu flat’s estimated worth is Rs 2-3 crore.
