Real cinema is the kind that leaves an impact on society, and Sitaare Zameen Par has proved its mettle in doing exactly that. Following the Samay Raina verdict, the Supreme Court has ordered him and four other social media influencers to host persons with disabilities at least twice a month on their online platforms and at public events, with the aim of raising awareness and funds for children with rare disorders such as Spinal Muscular Atrophy. As per the Court, the move was intended to turn controversy into constructive action, after taking serious note of a video in which the comedians mocked people with disabilities.

This is undoubtedly a very significant move from the Supreme Court, and Sitaare Zameen Par has played an important role in bringing this subject to the forefront of public discourse.
