Aamir Khan represented India at the Hainan International Film Festival in China, which had its closing ceremony on 16 December. The Thugs of Hindostan actor shared the stage with Jackie Chan, Johnny Depp, Juliette Binoche, Nuri Bilge Ceylan and Mads Mikkelsen.

According to Dailymail, other celebrities who were spotted at the red carpet of the festival were Emma Dumont and French actress Isabelle Huppert. The film festival was held in Sanya from 9 to 16 December.

Aamir is a popular Bollywood figure in China and has had his films like 3 Idiots, Dangal and Secret Superstar receive massive commercial success in the territory.
