Netflix has dropped the trailer of the third and final season of Netflix’s adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events, which hints at a final resolution in the lives of the Baudelaires.
The trailer begins with a condensed chronicle of what had already taken place in the first two seasons, from the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus and Sunny — being informed about their parents’ death to nefarious Count Olaf (played by Neil Patrick Harris) in his never-ending quest for their inheritance. Through their journey, they encounter several characters, including Woman with Hair but No Beard and Man with Beard but no Hair. It will also delve into the mystery of the clandestine organisation Volunteer Fire Department, also referred to by the acronym VFD.
The final few seconds of the trailer breaks the fourth wall, as the omniscient narrator Lemony Snickett finally introduces himself to the Baudelaire kids.
The final season of The Netflix show will be based on Lemony Snicket’s books The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril and The End.
Earlier in 2018, Neil Patrick Harris had confirmed that A Series Of Unfortunate Events will end after its third season.
The last season of A Series of Unfortunate Events premieres on 1 January, 2019.
