69th Filmfare Awards: Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' wins 3 Technical awards, 'Animal' and 'Jawan' win 2 each

The 69th Filmfare Awards recently took place with many Bollywood films making big wins in multiple categories. While films like Animal, 12th Fail, Sam Bahadur, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and Jawan dominated the major awards, a few of them also triumphed in technical excellence. That being said, Vicky Kaushal and Meghna Gulzar’s _Sam Bahadur_ dominated the technical awards by emerging as a frontrunner with victories in three significant categories. It was further followed by Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal and Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee’s blockbuster film _Jawan_ . Counted among the three big hits from last year, Jawan, Animal, and Sam Bahadur received the top honours in the technical category at the Filmfare Awards 2024. While Sam Bahadur took home the awards for Best Sound Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design, it was followed by Animal and Jawan with two awards each. While Animal also won the technical awards for Best Sound Design and Best Background Score, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan won it big for Best VFX and Best Action. Other Technical Award winners at Filmfare 2024 A few other films also made it big in the technical categories including Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail, Avinash Arun’s _Three of U_s, and Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The curtain raiser event of the 69th Filmfare Awards was hosted at the Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on Saturday with Aparshakti Khurrana and Karishma Tanna as the hosts for the evening. The event was held over two days, with the technical awards being given out on Saturday and the other ones on Sunday. Filmfare Awards: Winners Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were seen winning the top acting honours as they bagged the Best Actor and Best Actress awards for their films Animal and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Further, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal led the list of winners with six trophies, while Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s _12 Fail_ also won some of the biggest awards for the night including Best Film and Best Actor. On the other hand, while Vikrant Massey won the Best Actor Award (Critics) for 12th Fail, Rani Mukerji and Shefali Shah shared the award for Best Actress Award (Critics) for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway and The Three of Us. Vicky Kaushal was also nominated for Best Actor for Sam Bahadur, however, won the Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki.
