'It's important for an actor not to be predictable': Sharman Joshi on '1920: London'

After last year’s Hate Story, Sharman Joshi will now be seen in 1920: London, which is a sequel to the 1920 trilogy (after 1920, and 1920: Evil Returns). Acting opposite him is Meera Chopra, who has done several films in the Telugu and Tamil film industry. She is also Parineeti and Priyanka Chopra’s cousin. In an interview with Firstpost, both Joshi and Chopra spoke about their journey in Bollywood and their upcoming film. Youtube screen grab.[/caption] While Sharman has been around in the industry, with films like 3 Idiots, Rang De Basanti and Golmaal to his credit, for Meera Chopra, 1920: London is her big Bollywood break. “It’s a scary industry, and not easy to make it year. But after a year and a half, I finally got this film,” she says. Sharma Joshi, however, comes from a theatre background. His father has been an actor, director and producer in Gujarati films, so it was a natural progression for him to get into the field. “My first two films were like chalk and cheese: Godmother and Style. But over the years I have gotten quite realistic about my roles. It’s important to not be predictable,” says Sharma. He credits this attitude behind his reason for doing Hate Story 3.  However, horror movies in India can either be a hit and miss. What makes 1920: London different from the rest? “Technical advancement. Reasonable costing. We have some great visuals, great production value, and we’ve really captured the era of 1920s well. UK looks very different,” says Sharman. 1920: London will release on 6 May.
