Featuring the iconic pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the film was released in 2010 and also marked the actors’ reunion on the big screen after nine long years. While the film remains very special for director Karan Johar, it is also equally precious for the lead actors, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. As My Name Is Khan completes 14 years of its release on Monday, Kajol took to her Instagram handle and penned a heartfelt note. Sharing a picture with her co-actor Shah Rukh Khan on Instagram, Kajol was seen reflecting on the journey of Rizwan and Mandira while also celebrating the enduring power of love and unity. “Reflecting on the journey of Rizwan and Mandira, and the countless lives they’ve touched..Celebrating the enduring power of love and unity.. #14yearsofmynameiskhan.” she wrote.
Her post instantly left fans feeling nostalgic and overwhelmed. Many also demanded the re-release of My Name Is Khan on its 14th anniversary. Apart from Kajol, Karan Johar also shared a post on his Instagram story, looking back at his film, however, fans eagerly wait for SRK’s reaction or post on the same. When Karan Johar said My Name Is Khan is “hugely special” Back in 2018, Karan Johar on the film completing eight years of its release mentioned how the film remains “hugely special” to him. “A film that will always remain hugely special to me! About My Name Is Khan Featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles, the Karan Johar directorial revolves around the story of an autistic individual Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), who meets an Indian woman Mandira (Kajol), and her son Sameer and gets married to her. However, things take a turn for the worse after the family becomes a victim of the 9/11 aftermath, leading to Sameer’s death in a racially motivated attack. After his death sets the couple apart, Rizwan can be seen going on a journey to meet the president of the United States to clear his name and win his wife back.
