Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail featuring Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankr has turned out to be a huge success at the box office. The film garnered praise for its storytelling, direction and impeccable performances of the star cast. In a recent interview, Medha opened up about her preparation for the role of Shraddha Joshi, who helped Manoj Kumar Sharma in achieving his dream of becoming an IPS officer and her perception of the character.

“Sir was very clear that you don’t have to imitate Shraddha ma’am. You have to take inspiration from her character but you have to build your own character. For my prep, I met Shraddha ma’am many times. I would take notes. The first time I met her and Manoj sir, I took a notebook and for six hours, we were talking and I asked her everything about her life. Because I wanted to know who is Shraddha ma’am beyond the script and the book and beyond what Vidhu sir has told me,” Medha told Bollywood Hungama. She added, “For some very strange surreal reason, every time we would talk, we would have the same world views. And even today, we talk and laugh about it, that this really was a thing planned in a divine manner because we are very similar people when it comes to our thoughts.” The actress revealed that she went through a lot of workshops with Vikrant and Chopra for her role. “The character that you see in the film, there is a lot of Medha in it. Because sir was very clear that you don’t have to imitate, you have to get inspired by the character and make your own. So there’s a lot of Shradhha ma’am, Medha and a lot of Vidhu sir’s interpretation of Shraddha,”concluded Shankr.
