Delhi elections may result in hung assembly, says survey

Is the Delhi elections set to throw up an inconclusive result that will result in a hung assembly? A new pre-poll survey says just that. According to a TimesNow - CVoter poll survey, the Congress party is likely to drop to 29 seats from its current 43; the BJP is likely to 30 seats, an increase from its current 23 seats; while the Aam Aadmi Party will get around four seats. The survey states that Dikshit enjoys popularity among 37 percent among those polled while BJP’s Vijay Goel scored 18 percent. AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal has found popularity in only 17 percent of those polled. Reacting to the survey, Dikshit said it was too early to project the results. “No party has declared its candidates, no manifesto is out yet.. how can you decide which party will come to power?” she said. When asked by TimesNow if the anti-incumbency factor would play a role, Dikshit said development that her government has provided will result in a new term. “The people will vote for us after looking at the high quality of infrastructure, schools, hospitals that we have provided,” she said According to a representative of C-Voter, the survey had around 30,000 respondents.
