Further apprising the court about the progress of the probe, it said that the doctors in Denmark have confirmed that the woman was raped and it is exploring every possibility to call her to India for joining the investigation. “Police is planning to send a letter to the alleged victim through Denmark Embassy for joining the investigation. In case she does not come, Delhi Police team can also be sent to meet her. “As the case is sensitive in nature, we are trying to file the charge sheet in this case within 20 days,” Delhi Police told Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Sudhanshu Kaushik. The police told the court that seven persons, including two juveniles, have been nabbed and one is still at large. The two juveniles are facing inquiry before the Juvenile Justice Board in New Delhi. During the hearing, the police also said that the woman left India for Denmark last week. “Her (the woman’s) medical examination, conducted in Denmark has confirmed raped. There are marks of severe injuries on the victim’s body,” the police told the court. To which the judge said, “Make some arrangement in such a way that the victim can be involved in the probe and help the investigating team in identifying accused persons.” “Think out of the box, every case required different type of investigation,” the court said. The judge further said, “The lady can be asked to appear via video conferencing to identify the accused.” The police had told the court that the eight persons, all vagabonds, had robbed and gangraped the victim at knife-point on the night of 14 January after leading her to a secluded place close to the Divisional Railway Officers Club near the New Delhi railway station. Police booked the accused under sections 376 (2)(G) (gangrape), 397 (robbery or dacoity, with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 392 (robbery) of the IPC. The Danish tourist, who had come to India on January 1, had first gone to Agra. She returned to Delhi on January 13 and checked in a Paharganj hotel here. On 14 January, she went to visit a museum near Connaught Place but lost her way back to her hotel following which she approached the group of men asking for directions who waylaid her and then robbed and gangraped her for around three hours.
