30-year-old woman shot dead in Delhi

A 30-year-old woman has been shot dead in Delhi's Rohini sector. The victim, identified as Meenakshi had been shot thrice as she had been returning home after dropping her children off at school.

The woman who had been travelling in a rickshaw, had been shot at by two men on a motorcycle. She had died on the way to hospital.

There is still no information on why the woman was killed, but relatives told media that there had been an ongoing court case against Meenakshi's husband who had apparently left his first wife to marry her.

Police are conducting investigations and say they are in the process of rounding up suspects for interrogation. However they state that it is likely that the assailants were known to the victim.
