Indian tennis fans now have the option of watching the US Open live on their mobile phone. Zenga TV, India’s largest mobile TV platform, has bagged the exclusive rights to the last tennis Grand Slam of the year, the company said in a statement.
Users who have the Zenga app on their phone can watch the live telecast, listen to live commentary or choose to watch a match later as the matches will remain available after the telecast. Zenga is offering the telecast for free to its app users.

“U.S. Open is the final grand slam of the year that has millions of ardent fans around the world glued to their TV sets thereby restricting their mobility,” Mr. Abhishek Joshi, CEO, Zenga TV, said in a statement. “Our mobile streaming of the tournament is intended to give you the freedom to watch the action live and on the go.”
Zenga claims to offer a good viewing experience, free of regular delays due because the broadcast hangs. “Unlike other mobile TV live 3G applications that do video streaming from internet in real time, we ensure good live streaming because the cloud computing database airs the content,” Mr.Shabir Momiin, MD & CTO, Zenga TV.com said. This is one of the major plus points of our application.
Zenga licensed the rights to the tournament from Seven3Sports, who were given the rights by Ten Sports, which has the television broadcast rights in India. The tournament began on 26 August and culminates with the men’s final on 9 September.
