Wipro Q3 net jumps 10.4% to Rs 1,456 crore

Wipro Ltd , India's No.3 software services exporter today reported a 10.4 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by a weaker rupee and the restructuring of its operations.

Wipro Q3 net jumps 10.4% to Rs 1,456 crore

Bangalore: Wipro Technologies Ltd , India's No.3 software services exporter today reported a 10.4 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by a weaker rupee and the restructuring of its operations.

Consolidated net profit rose to Rs. 1,456 crore in its fiscal third quarter ended 31 December, from Rs 1,319 crore a year earlier. Revenues came in at Rs 9,997 crore.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected net profit at Rs 1,481 crore rupees for Wipro , also listed on the New York Stock Exchange, whose clients include Citigroup , Cisco and Credit Suisse .

In terms of dollar revenues, the company announced it had generated $1,505 million in global IT services, which was up 12 percent from a year ago.
