In order to boost the number of super-luxury cars it sells in India, Mercedes Benz is now offering an all-new luxury experience topotentialbuyers.
Those interested can actually opt for a fly-in visit from Mumbai as Mercedes has built a helipad within its factory premise in Pune for its coveted AMG brand. This is a specially-built arena that will house luxury wheels ranging from the Rs 2.5 crore SLS AMG roadster to other power-packed versions of its extensive range of cars, a Times of India report said today.
On Monday, Mercedes-Benz launched the high-performance version of its SLK convertible, the SLK 55 AMG, in India. Priced at R1.26 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), the car is powered by a 5.5-litre, V8 AMG engine.
The move is part of its strategy to introduce top-range products in the Indian market.

“With the SLK 55 AMG, we unleash our AMG product (range) offensive for the Indian market as we plan to introduce remaining products from our global portfolio for the Indian customers,” Mercedes Benz India managing director and CEO Eberhard Kern said yesterday.
This year, the company has introduced new products, including the compact luxury car A Class, B Class diesel and GL Class.
The SLK 55 AMG is Mercedes-Benz India’s eighth product for the Indian market.
