Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani on Friday said that his company will double investment and employment numbers over the next 10 years in Gujarat.

Ambani, who was speaking at the 9th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar, added that Reliance Retail will launch an e-commerce platform in the state.

RIL has invested Rs 3 lakh crore so far in Gujarat and is committed to make the state fully digital, Ambani said.

"Gandhiji launched a movement against political colonisation. We need a revolution against data colonisation. India's data should be controlled only by India. I hope PM will make this the goal of Digital India mission," Ambani was quoted as saying by CNN-News18.

The three-day investors' meet was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Mahatma Mandir facility for international events in the state capital on Friday.

Heads of five countries and over 30,000 national and international delegates are attending the summit. Some of the major events during the three-day meet include a round-table interaction with the heads of global funds, 'Africa Day' and an MSME convention.

Vibrant Gujarat Summit was conceptualised in 2003 by the Modi who was then the chief minister of Gujarat, to re-establish Gujarat as a preferred investment destination.

The Summit provides a platform for brainstorming on agendas of global socio-economic development, knowledge sharing and forging effective partnerships.
