AFP[/caption] “The order is part of JICA-Funded Ganga Action Plan project and the implementation agency for this project is Ganga Pollution Prevention Unit of UP Jal Nigam, Varanasi”, it said. The scope includes design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the sewage treatment plant whereas the civil construction would be carried out by the joint-venture partner, it said. “We are proud to be part of this Ganga Action plan project at Dinapur, Varanasi and this order once again demonstrates our proven capabilities in execution and operation of power neutral sewage treatment plants”, WABAG, Head-Sales, S Natrajan said. WABAG would employ the activated sludge process with bio-gas based power generation for this project. It would help the plant generate power from bio-gas and the plant would largely be self-sustainable using the green energy. It would not only help the project to reduce operational costs but also reduce the carbon emissions qualifying for carbon credits, it said. PTI
