Trusts biggest donors for Cong, manufacturing for BJP

Of the total corporate donations, Congress received maximum contributions from trusts & group of companies (Rs 70.28 crores) while the BJP received maximum donation from the manufacturing sector (Rs 58.18 crore)

Of the totalcorporatedonations, Congress received maximum contributions from trusts & group of companies (Rs 70.28 crores) while the BJP received maximum donation from the manufacturing sector (Rs 58.18 crore) and power & oil (Rs 17.06 crore). Mining/construction/export& imports sector contributed a total of Rs 29.73 crores followed by the real-estate sector which donated Rs 24.10 crore.Hospitality & travel sectors also have donated a total of Rs 7.62 crores along with educational institutions, donating Rs 1.94 crore, showed data from theAssociation for Democratic Reforms and National Reforms.

•Trust and group of companies was the sector which made maximum donations to national parties in FY 2004-05, 2006-07, 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2011-12

• Maximum amount (Rs 51.49 crore) was donated by the trusts & group of companies during the FY 2009-10 when the Lok Sabha elections were held

•Manufacturing sector donated the maximum amount of Rs 3.54 crore in FY 2005-06 and Rs 11.47 crores in FY 2007-08

•Power and oil sector donated the maximum amount of Rs 6.50 crores in FY 2010-11
