A day after the FIPB gave approval to the Tata-Singapore Airlines joint venture to start a full-service carrier, Tata Group Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata said that the airline would be a full service facility and provide great opportunities.
He said that the Singapore Airlines deal with Tata would not affect its venture with AirAsia in any way. “There’s no confusion with AirAsia on Singapore Airlines deal,” he told reporters after meeting aviation minister Ajit Singh.
Earlier, there were reports that Arun Bhatia, the promoter of Telestra Tradeplace was miffed about the Tatas not having informed him before announcing the second venture with SIA. “Ethically speaking, they (the Tatas) should have informed us, discussed it with us,” Bhatia had told _Firstpost._ He said he had not heard of the second airline venture by the Tatas even from AirAsia Chairman Tony Fernandes.

Answering a question on Air India, Tata said that the group would be interested in buying stake stake in it if and when the government privatises it.
Welcoming the Tata-Singapore Airlines joint venture, Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said that he sees no more issues in the the deal.
“DGCA nod to Tata-SIA depends on how fast documents filed,” he added.
Singh also clarified that Tata’s two airline ventures do not clash. “There’s room for both of Tata Group Airlines,” he said.
