The Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai has reportedly been fined Rs 63 lakh by the Brihanmumbai Municipal for occupying approximately 1,350 square metres of Colaba road with flower in front and around the hotel premises. [caption id=“attachment_1982941” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Reuters[/caption] According to report in Mumbai Mirror, the hotel management had asked the civic officials to waiver the occupation charges levied on them, saying the road had been occupied for security reasons and as per the guidelines issued by the Mumbai police following the 26/11 terror attack where in the hotels were asked to install security planters around the premises. However, BMC dismissed the waiver demand and directed the hotel to pay Rs 62.80 lakh to the Ward office concerned at the earliest, the report said.
