SpiceJet's new 'one stop sale': Tickets up for grabs at Rs 2,999

Just days after its Valentine’s Day sale, budget carrier SpiceJet today announced a fresh sale in which tickets were available for as low as Rs 2,999 and included routes that had a single stop-over. The airline is hoping to cash in on the Holi weekend in March. Tickets under the scheme will be available from Thursday until 22 February (Sunday) midnight. The offer is valid for travel between 26 February and 15 April and is applicable only for flights within India. [caption id=“attachment_2108325” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Reuters image[/caption] Under the scheme flyers can book direct flights to their destination or even on flights that have one stop en route to the destination. “The travel period covered under this sale includes the Holi weekend, and hence this offer will be exciting for customers who can now plan to travel around that time,” said Kaneswaran Avili, Chief Commercial Officer of SpiceJet said in a statement. Tickets under the scheme are also available on online travel portals and through travel agents but they are non-refundable and non-changeable. As always tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. The sale comes even as the beleaguered budget airline is set to be recapitalised by co-founder Ajay Singh and a consortium of investors. Singh told _CNBC-TV18_ that Rs 400 crore will be invested in the airline “immediately on getting CCI approval, which may happen in next 1-2 days”. SpiceJet has also announced a slew of new flights and services as part of its summer schedule. The airline is adding new flights to its domestic and international routes and as part of restructuring, is also suspending service to six cities - Aurangabad, Belgaum, Indore, Lucknow, Surat, and Thiruvananthapuram.
