Just days after its Valentine’s Day and the ‘one stop sale’, budget carrier SpiceJet today announced a fresh sale in which tickets for domestic routes will be available for as low as Rs 1,699 and Rs 3799 for international flights. SpiceJet is offering a total of 1,00,000 seats on both domestic and international routes. Bookings under this latest offer are open now ( 24 February) and will close at midnight on February 26. The travel period is from March 01 till April 20, 2015. International flights start as low as Rs 3,799 all-in for Delhi to Kathmandu, with discounted fares available on most other international routes too,” SpiceJet said in a statement. However, when Firstpost tried to book tickets from Mumbai to Kathmandu for the Holi weekend, fares were either sold out or were a whopping Rs 13000 one way. However a Mumbai-Dubai return for the same weekend was available for Rs 14,500. On domestic routes, fares for most of the above mentioned routes were either sold out or were available at the discounted rates only one way. For instance, Delhi to Dehradun was available for Rs 1726 on 5th March but there were no tickets available for a return on 9th March. But the same was available for Rs 1842 for the previous day. “SpiceJet is now synonymous with Holi, and how could we not celebrate it in our own special way? “Those who fly us on Holi itself will also get to celebrate the festival with SpiceJet, making the day special and memorable for young and old alike”, said Sanjiv Kapoor, SpiceJet’s Chief Operating Officer. Last week, SpiceJet announced another sale in which tickets were available for as low as Rs 2,999 and included routes that had a single stop-over. Today’s sale comes a day after the airline’s original promoter Ajay Singh finally became its owner again with the completion of the process of share transfer from the former promoter Kalanithi Maran, chairman of the Sun Group, to him.
