Progress Software, a Nasdaq-listed firm, today launched the application process for its second cohort program for startups, the Progress Incubator Program in India. The Progress Incubator Program (the first corporate incubator in Hyderabad) is open to all startups and university students across India with a business app idea that is in a prototype stage. Interested parties can apply online at - https://www.progress.com/incubator by October 25, 2015. Progress senior leadership will then select five teams with the most innovative business app ideas to take part in the six-month program, starting November 1, 2015.  "With this initiative we are trying to provide a nurturing ground for very early stage startups which otherwise at this stage do not get any concrete support. We hope to bring our deep product engineering and product go-to-market insights to these startups,” said Ramesh Loganathan, Vice President Products and Managing Director Progress India Launched last year, the incubator program aims to help startups that are in the early stage development, build the next generation business applications. As part of the program, participants have access to Progress application development and deployment platforms and data connectivity solutions for free. The Progress Incubator Program provides work space and access to mentors with extensive market and domain expertise. The first edition of the incubator program was introduced as a pilot project in which five early stage startups participated. HackerBay Software Pvt Ltd. developed a complete back-end and storage app solution, Vital Buyer Process Outsource helped SME manufacturers enhance efficiency and increase profits through a combined procurement and transactional platform and Risk Edge Solutions built a Risk Metrics for commodities. During the first edition of the program, DoConf Systems & Solutions Pvt Ltd created a cloud based collaborative communication platform for businesses and individuals to use in real time, while General Developers’ team developed a mobile diagnostics platform for iOS and Android apps. The Progress Incubator Program provides a wide-ranging support for the startups. Apart from physical space and access to leading-edge technology, participants will have access to Progress engineers and experts who will offer guidance and mentorship in both technology development and market opportunity. In addition, Progress senior leaders will provide domain expertise, strategic guidance, and will help with access to markets and potential investor opportunities. Progress will also assist the startups in connecting with the Hyderabad entrepreneurial ecosystem. The Progress Incubator Program complements and aligns with the Telangana government’s initiative to provide support for innovation and entrepreneurship in Hyderabad and supports the government’s efforts to make Hyderabad the startup capital of India.
