Photos: These 10 cars were India's most exported over the last year

Domestic car sales may finally be rising in India, but exports have had a mixed year with carmakers enjoying varying degrees of of success. While popular cars in India saw exports slump over this year, not so popular models were sent to other more profitable markets. Here are the top exported cars in India in FY14 (All data taken from SIAM). Let’s start with the Hyundai i10 which topped the list with 1,09,074 units exported. Though this was the most number of cars exported this year, it is still a 29 percent drop from the i10’s FY13 figures of 1,53,168.

No.2 is the Nissan Micra with 78,383 units sent overseas. That represents a 13 percent increase in the company’s export numbers, from 69,063 units in the last fiscal.

Third in the list is the Hyundai i20. FY14 saw 59,789 units exported, up 7 percent from FY13’s 56,003.

Next is the Maruti Suzuki A-Star, with 45,193 units exported. That’s a 16 percent drop from last fiscal, which saw 53,811 units exported

The Nissan Sunny is fifth, with 37,730 units exported - a 26 percent hike from 29,908 in 2012-2013.

Volkswagen’s Vento is sixth with 32,017 units sent overseas. Compared to last year’s 8,106 units, that’s a whopping 295 percent jump.

The Hyundai Accent is next at 29,107 units in FY14, a two per cent dip from last year’s 29,574.

Eighth is the Ford Figo, which saw 28,304 units exported, down 2 per cent from FY13’s 28,895.

Bringing up the rear end is the Maruti Suzuki Alto. FY14 saw 20,858 units exported, down 24 percent from 27,428 in the previous fiscal.

The 10th most exported vehicle is the Hyundai Eon which had 19,296 units exported this fiscal, 7 per cent lower than last fiscal’s 20,644.
