On a day when the Indian performance at Cannes has been a dampener (India has won just one bronze in the results announced so far), it was a day to celebrate for Ogilvy & Mather India. In addition to the fact that the only metal for India, so far, has been won by Ogilvy, the agency’s Mumbai office has been named the most effective individual agency office globally by Effie Worldwide and Warc, the global marketing intelligence service when they revealed the global results of the Effie Effectiveness Index at Cannes.

McDonald’s was the most effective brand, for the second year in a row, WPP Group as the most effective advertising holding company and Ogilvy & Mather as the most effective advertising agency network. Ogilvy & Mather (Mumbai) is the most effective individual agency office.
Commenting on the announcement, WPP CEO Sir Martin Sorrell told Firstpost, “We are proud of all the recognition - just like being awarded the first Cannes Lions last year for the Most Creative Holding Company. Ogilvy is a great agency and network! (Ogilvy) Mumbai is a great agency.”
“This recognition makes us even more proud of the stuff we do. We’ve always believed that to be truly effective you need to have an outstandingly creative and insightful piece of communication. This is avindication of the relentlessness of our people, the confidence of our clients, and the sheer width and variety of the office’s skill sets,” Kawal Shoor, head of planning, Ogilvy Mumbai, said to Firstpost.
