It may take a year or more, but another Leopold Cafe is in the offing.
The 142-year-old bar and restaurant in Colaba is expanding and you couldsee a new outlet in suburban Mumbai or Goa, a n Economic Times report said today .
The iconic Leopold Cafe is a popular tourist stop-by at Colaba Causeway in South Mumbai and was also among the terror targets during the 2008 Mumbai attack.

Leopold found itself among the top tourist destinations for international travellers after it was mentioned in Gregory Roberts’ famous magnum opus, Shantaram.
Leopold’s Iranian owners, the Jehani family have received partnership offers ever since its first mention in ‘Shantaram’.
Moreover, the cafe’s business has grown about 30 percent ever since the 2008 attacks as a lot of tourists want to see the bullet-marked walls and glass panels that the owners chose not to repair.
Popularly known as Leos, the new eatery could come up in the suburbs like Bandra or Andheri-Lokhandwala.The owners are also considering Goa.
“The type of crowd that comes to Goa is very familiar with the name ‘Leopold’,” Jehani told the Economic Times.
