Who was surprised to read the news that Salman Khan starrer Kick has already crossed Rs 100 crore? Definitely not us!

The movie, which hit theatres on 25 July, made entry to the elite club of Rs 100 crore in just five days. So far, the movie has made Rs 126.70 crore.

In fact, Dabang Khan has set a new record–he now has the largest number of Rs 100 crore films. Aamir Khan has had three films that have reached Rs 100 crores - Ghajini, 3 Idiots and his last release Dhoom 3. Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, has had four 100 crore films - Don 2, RA.One, Jab Tak Hain Jaan and Chennai Express.

And, Salman Khan has seven Rs 100 crore films under his belt. Besides Kick, there’s_Dabangg, ‘Dabangg 2, Ready, Bodyguard, Ek Tha Tiger and Jai Ho._

Kick, which opened to a mixed response from the critics, earned nearly Rs 27 crore on the opening day. The first collection beat all of Salman’s previous records except Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 32.93 cr). However, Ek Tha Tiger took about six days to enter the Rs 100 crore club.

Though Kick was superfast in entering the elite club, it could not break the record of Dhoom 3, which made Rs 100 crore in just three days. There’s more. Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chennai Express made Rs 100 crore in 3.5 days and made a grand total of Rs 226.70 crore at the box office.
